#NSLCMAST students have had a busy day so far! In the morning, they met with Paul M. Lisnek, one of the founders of the NSLC, to learn about being effective negotiators. This afternoon, the students learned quickly how important trust and communication are. Students started with a Dyadic Encounter, in which students are paired up and given a list of topics to discuss, ranging from on-the-surface to deep questions about themselves and their goals for the future. With some trust built up, students proceeded to participate in a “trust walk.” In this exercise, some of the students were unable to see and/or speak, so others had to help guide them to the group’s final destination – all while walking in a single file line, hand in hand.
